Introduction Dr. William Hayne Mills, a Clemson faculty member during the 1930s, was instrumental in obtaining this material from Joseph Wightman Reid, for many years Secretary of the South Carolina State Grange, E. Scope and Contents This original volume includes membership list, premium lists, constitution, minutes of meetings; two unattached pages, 1860; three undated newsclipping fragments; and one 1857 newsclipping pasted on fly leaf. The Agricultural Convention of South Carolina met in Columbia August 8 and 9, 1855, for the purpose of organizing a state agricultural society.
